.NAME Domain Names

Introduced in 2001, the .NAME top-level domain name extension is the single TLD planned for personal sites only. These domains can include personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other titles people are known by. Initially, just third-level registrations were possible, so if you planned to buy john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already grabbed 3rd-level domain names remained working.

Through our company, you can order your dot NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will have the opportunity to switch the WHOIS information, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already purchased domain to our company if you have its EPP transfer authorization key from the current domain provider and we will renew it after the transfer has been finalized. There are no particular restrictions on who can reserve a dot NAME domain name, but in order to keep the objective behind its creation alive, the .NAME Registry may check who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration can be challenged.
